Also, 1% of their revenue goes to clean-up efforts and environmental advocacy. Their website emphasizes not belonging to what they refer to as the “Highway Lobby.” Better World Club instead supports the development and funding of mass transit and bike lanes, along with the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts being enforced.
The roadside assistance coverage that they offer is similar to what is offered by other major providers: the Basic plan offers a towing radius of just 5 miles, and on the Premium plan, it is 100 miles. Coverage also includes four service calls covered a year, trip interruption, bail bond, and legal fee reimbursement coverage to many of the well-known companies.
Better World Club also allows its members to add on comprehensive roadside cover for their bicycles for just $17 per year. Testimonials from members on BWC’s website indicate that they provide both cost-effective and reliable service for both four-wheeled and two-wheeled transportation with an average response time of just 38 minutes. They provide coverage to the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. One notable exclusion is Mexico, which some other plans include.
The cost for a Basic Plan starts at $57.95 and for a Premium Plan at $92.95. Additional members of the family can be covered for an extra $35 to $49 per individual. That is much more expensive compared to what most other providers charge. However, Better World Club does waive its sign-up fees for members who switch from AAA. Also, even for those without an AAA membership, customers can contact Better World Club and request a price patch of the AAA membership fees in their local area.
Better World Club offers a generous cancellation policy: within 30 days of the enrollment period, they provide a full refund, and after the first 30 days, they offer a prorated refund. Better World Club reserves the right to cancel a membership for unusually high claim frequency.
The plans that Better World Club offers gives customers the chance to protect themselves against unforeseen road events while being more environmentally-friendly. We do like that they are committed to a “green” lifestyle, the generous coverage they offer to bicyclists, and their refund policy. However, we would like to see them offer more reasonable membership rates.
